What Are LifeSG Credits?

LifeSG Credits are digital credits given by the Singapore Government through the LifeSG app. There are two main types that most Singaporeans can benefit from:

1. NS LifeSG Credits — For NSmen

Who gets it:
All eligible past and present Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) from the SAF and Home Team.

Validity:
Valid for 1 year from date of disbursement. No extension given, so check your expiry fast!

Important:
Check your LifeSG app NOW to see your remaining balance and expiry date.

2. Child LifeSG Credits — For Parents

Who gets it:
Parents with Singapore Citizen children aged 0–12 years old. Credits go to the CDA trustee of the child — check who's the trustee in your household first!

Validity:
Valid for 1 year from date of disbursement.

Can I Use LifeSG Credits at 8th Ave Mobile?

8th Ave Mobile accepts payment via PayNow UEN QR — which means LifeSG Credits work at all our stores. Super straightforward, just scan and pay!

How to Use LifeSG Credits at Our Store — Step by Step

Very easy one, just follow these steps:

Step 1 — Download the LifeSG app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Search "LifeSG". Log in with Singpass.

Step 2 — Check your balance On the home screen → tap "Your Benefits" or "Benefits and Support" → find your NS or Child LifeSG Credits → check your balance and expiry date.

Step 3 — Come to any 8th Ave Mobile store Visit us at AMK, Bugis, Bedok or Westgate. All locations accept LifeSG Credits via PayNow UEN QR.

Step 4 — Open the app and scan our QR code In the LifeSG app → tap "Scan QR code to pay" → scan our PayNow UEN QR code at the counter → enter the amount to pay.

Step 5 — Confirm the merchant name Before confirming payment, make sure the merchant name shown matches 8TH AVE MOBILE — if it shows a personal name or different business name, don't proceed and check with our staff.

Step 6 — Tap pay and show success screen Tap pay → show our staff the success screen. Done! Your LifeSG Credits will be used first before any other payment method.

Step 7 — Top up if needed If your purchase is more than your LifeSG Credits balance, just top up the rest via cash, PayNow, or card. Easy!

 

Important Things to Know Before You Come

Need the LifeSG app — must have Cannot use LifeSG Credits without the app. Download it first, log in with Singpass, check your balance before coming.

Must have a camera phone You need to scan our QR code — so your phone must have a working camera. If your phone camera spoil, let us repair it first! 😄

LifeSG Credits expire — check your date! NS Credits valid 1 year from disbursement . Child Credits valid 1 year from disbursement.

No change given If your purchase is less than the credits used, no refund or change. Use your credits on purchases that match or exceed the amount.

Credits used first When you pay with LifeSG, your credits get deducted first before any other payment method.

Q: Can NSmen use LifeSG Credits at 8th Ave Mobile?
A: Yes! As long as we accept PayNow UEN QR — which we do — you can use your NS LifeSG Credits here.

Q: Can Child LifeSG Credits be used for phone purchases?
A: Yes! Child LifeSG Credits can be used at any merchant accepting PayNow UEN QR or NETS QR, including 8th Ave Mobile.

Q: What if I can't find my LifeSG Credits in the app?
A: Contact the NS Call Centre at 1800 367 6767 or email contact@ns.gov.sg for NS Credits. For Child Credits, check the LifeSG app under "Benefits and Support".

Q: Can I use both CDC Vouchers AND LifeSG Credits in the same transaction?
A: CDC Vouchers and LifeSG Credits are separate payment methods. You can use them separately — CDC Vouchers via the CDC voucher link, LifeSG Credits via the LifeSG app. Check with our staff for the best way to split payment.

Q: My NS Credits expired — can I still use them?
A: Unfortunately no — validity cannot be extended.
